Some of you may have heard of The Food Network's popular chef, Emeril and his famous-BAM! Each time Emeril would want to "kick it(the recipe) up a notch," he would add his special spices. I would like to put a little BAM! into your math education and spice up the "same old, same old" information you might have found boring otherwise.
Essense can be defined as, "the most significant element, quality, or aspect of a thing or person." In the case of Emeril, his recipe's significant element is the special mix of spices that he adds to make it taste "better" than others.
So in our class, what is YOUR significant element? What makes you different from everyone else in the class?
